What is Health Canada AI?
We are a collaborative centre that brings artificial intelligence into everyday healthcare. We work with clinicians, researchers and institutions to turn careful research into tools and knowledge that help people receive better care. We share what we learn rather than sell products.
Are you a company that sells software?
No. We are a community of researchers and clinicians. Everything we create is meant to be shared, understood and improved by others. Our purpose is to help, not to sell.
Where are you based?
We are based in Canada and we work with partners across the country. Distance is rarely a barrier, since most of our collaboration happens through conversation and shared work.
Who do you work with?
We work with doctors, nurses and care teams, with researchers and students, and with hospitals, clinics and health systems. If your work touches patient care, there is a good chance we can help.

How does a partnership begin?
It begins with a short conversation about your goals and your constraints. From there we explore the problem together, shape a plan in the open, build and test with care, and support you through launch and well beyond it.
How long does a project usually take?
Most partnerships move from the first conversation to a working tool within a few months. We give you an honest estimate early and keep you informed at every stage.
Do we need technical staff on our side?
No. We meet you where you are. Our team handles the technical work and explains everything in plain language, so you are never left guessing.
Can you work with our existing systems?
In most cases, yes. We take time to understand your current tools and the way your team already works, then design our approach to fit around them rather than against them.

How do you protect our data?
We treat your data with the highest standard of care. Privacy and security sit at the centre of every method we choose, and we follow the rules and practices that keep patient information safe.
Is patient information ever shared?
No. We handle sensitive information with strict care and share nothing without clear permission and a clear reason. Trust is the foundation of everything we do.
How do you keep your tools safe and fair?
We test every method with patience, checking for accuracy, safety and fairness before anything reaches real practice. We design with the wellbeing of patients firmly in mind.

The first conversation is always free. We believe in understanding your needs before anything else, and we are clear about scope and cost before any work starts.
What should we prepare before reaching out?
Very little. A rough sense of your goal and the people it will help is enough to start. We will guide you through the rest, one step at a time.
